Context
A retreat above the cave where the legend kept Odysseus — water, rock, and a long way down to the dark.
Some places ask you to do less. The work here was mostly restraint — knowing what to leave in shadow so the one warm light could matter.
The problem
It was marketed as a spa among spas, its myth and its sea flattened into amenities.
Approach
We led with the water at night and the single lantern on the hull below.
Stillness as the offer: fewer words, more dark, room to breathe.
Stays booked direct, framed as a disappearance, not a package.
The arrival
A slow descent toward the water until one warm light holds the whole frame.
Result
Longer average stays.
Direct bookings led the channel mix.
The myth came back to the surface.
