How Tradespeople in Malta Win More Jobs Online

24 July 2026 · 3 min read

If you are a builder, electrician, plumber, aluminium installer or any other trade in Malta, your next job is probably being decided on a phone right now. Someone needs work done, they search, and they call whoever looks reliable and answers. Here is how to make sure that is you.

Trades live and die on two moments

Winning trade work online comes down to two moments:

  1. Being found when someone searches "electrician near me" or "builder in [your town]."
  2. Looking trustworthy enough, in a few seconds, that they call you and not the next result.

Get both right and the phone rings. Miss either and you are invisible.

Get found: show up when they search

Most trade jobs start with a Google search or a look at Google Maps. To be there:

  • Claim your Google Business Profile, fill it in fully, and get reviews from happy customers. For trades, reviews are everything — they are proof you do good work and turn up.
  • Have a real website, not just a Facebook page. It is what lets Google show you in normal search results and what makes you look established. Here is why a Facebook page alone is not enough.
  • Have a page for each service you offer — rewiring, bathrooms, extensions, apertures — so you show up for each specific search. Full detail in our local SEO guide.

Look trustworthy: the trade website that wins jobs

For a trade, a website has one job: make a stranger comfortable enough to call. That means:

  • Your work, in photos. Before-and-afters and finished jobs do more selling than any words. A gallery of neat, completed work is your strongest asset.
  • Reviews on show. Real quotes from real customers, front and centre.
  • A giant, obvious "call now" button and your number on every page. When someone needs a plumber tonight, do not make them hunt.
  • A "get a quote" button for bigger jobs, so enquiries come to you even when you are up a ladder.

That is the difference between a website that looks nice and one that books work.

Do not waste money on the wrong things

Trades get targeted by a lot of "digital marketing" offers. Keep it simple:

  • You do not need a fancy logo redesign or a ten-page site to win jobs.
  • You do need to be findable, look trustworthy, and be one tap from a phone call.
  • Google Ads can work well for urgent trades (emergency plumber, locksmith) — but only if the click lands on a fast page with a clear call button. Here is how to decide between Google Ads and social.
